My Philosophy

  • There is no silver bullet, there is no magic pill; you have to do the work

  • Sustainable change happens slowly over time

  • All changes, big or small, start as a fleeting thought

  • If you walked 10 miles into the woods, you cannot get out in 5

  • The healing I offer is within the relationship; our connections is what matters most

  • I can listen for patterns and identify negative thoughts, but ultimately you are the expert on you

  • Every single person that is trying to change is working hard to do so and I honor and respect that effort, regardless of the outcome

  • You will be well in time

Teenagers and
Young Adults

I have specialized in working with teens and young adults with newly emerging mental health issues like anxiety and depression for the past decade.  The therapeutic “work” of separating from parents, establishing independence, breaking free of the culture of your family of origin, and truly becoming yourself is such important business. Being able to walk along side of young people as they forge this path is endlessly gratifying work. This is typically the time that most people will experience their first symptoms of anxiety or depression. While that is a tough thing to deal with as a young person, it is the most hopeful time to start building insight and consider all the factors that affect mood. It’s the right time to begin your therapeutic journey.

New Mothers

Every new mom needs therapy. Every new mom needs to feed, dress, and entertain her new baby. She also needs healthy hot meals for herself a few times a day. She needs clean clothes for herself and the baby. She needs a clean home that makes her feel sane and like she can find things when she needs them. She needs a supportive partner, a decent income, and at least a full year of maternity leave to be able to truly heal and bond if she is going back to work. She also needs a supportive community of friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, a village, and neighbors that care and check in. Most of all, new moms need REST.

Because the list I just made is so real, long, and nearly utterly impossible to achieve, I’ll say it again: Every new mom needs therapy.

I’m a flexible therapist and can accommodate babies. You can text me any day you want to come in and I will text you back my available hours for the day. I want to accommodate you and understand that getting out of the house is half the battle, so I am also available for remote sessions via HIPPAA compliant video telehealth upon request, no questions asked.

Young Professional Women with Anxiety

During the 10 years I have worked with young professional women in LA, I have noticed that success in the professional world often goes hand-in-hand with high levels of anxiety and sometimes depression. I provide group and individual therapy options to help you hop off the stress hamster wheel and thrive as a young professional. Therapy for young professional women often includes finding comfortable boundaries and ways to set them, limiting experiences that drain us, checking in with our gut when faced with uncomfortable boundary pushing, and finding ways to advocate for your needs and the needs of others in your workplace.

I facilitate an ongoing weekly group therapy for young women living in with anxiety. It’s 7pm Thursday nights. Enrollment is on a rolling basis.
